To meet mutually agreed-upon goals and objectives, our work is based on a complete situation analysis, a formal proposal (including program formulation and implementation), written agreements, periodic documentation (mutually specified) of all activities conducted on behalf of the client, a written report giving the details of the analysis and data, and a presentation of the results and their implications for action. While we believe in establishing long-term relationships, we also believe in assisting clients to the extent that they might implement and manage future change on their own. No assignment will be undertaken unless it has the potential for measurable return to the client.
When a regional hospital needed to determine why its patient base was shrinking, we created a number of comprehensive surveys and provided analyses encompassing the following: (1) A retention analysis of past patients that included their assessment of personal care, services offered and location, (2) a survey of hospital employees that elicited their inputs about service, hospital management, hospital policies and internal communications, (3) a survey of hospital management that encompassed its views toward employees, the board of trustees and their (management's) perception of market opinion, (4) a survey of doctors as to their perceived relationship with the hospital, and finally (5) a series of focus groups with random members of the surrounding communities to obtain their thoughts and overall perceptions about the hospital. All of this information was consolidated into a plan that called for better assessing satellite clinic locations, creating better employee training, improving internal communications, planning for new services and selecting a communications firm to create a marketing thematic and follow-up tactical marketing efforts. Recently Apogee Analytics has begun developing market penetration and market share models for hospital services. Such models will allow the hospital to evaluate its performance in the area that it serves as well as providing guides to how it can improve its services. |
